Coater filter screen basket is mainly used for filtering and screening coating materials and coloring pigments in the papermaking and printing production processes. The screening accuracy reaches the micrometer level (generally at multiple levels of 50, 80, 100, and 150um).
The coater filter screen basket is made of all stainless steel material and installed in a fully enclosed pipeline form. The main structure consists of screen body, rotating scraper, screen basket, and transmission device.
Main Features of Coater Filter Screen Basket
- Fully enclosed pressure screening to prevent the paint from drying and solidifying after the diluent evaporates;
- Centrifugal separation with screen rotor effectively improves screening efficiency;
- The screen basket adopts a spiral slot structure, which achieves spiral cleaning when the scraper rotates. The coarse material adsorbed on the slot surface of the screen basket is directly sent to the slag discharge pipe and cannot return to the screen chamber, directly achieving the cleaning and slag discharge function;
- The transmission device is configured on the top cover of the screen body, making the equipment structure compact and easy to clean and maintain the rotating rotor and screen basket.

Working Principle of Coater Filter Screen Basket
After the unfiltered coating enters the outer screening chamber through the pipeline, it begins to separate coarse and fine under the centrifugal action of the transmission rotor and rotating rotor;
At the same time, under the pressure inside the pipeline, the fine coating moves towards the screen basket and enters the inner screen chamber through the screen slot, and is directly transported to the coating knife (or printing knife) through the outlet pipe;
Coarse coatings and coatings that fail to pass through the sieve gap are separated by the rotor rotation and cleaned into the coarse material pipe at the bottom of the outer sieve chamber by a rotating scraper that adheres closely to the surface of the screen basket, following the spiral direction of the screen basket. They are then sent back to the disperser for further grinding through a manual (or automatic) slag discharge valve.
Due to the use of pipeline closure during the entire screening process and after coating screening to avoid contact with air and other media, the screened coating can ensure that there is no secondary pollution or drying caused by the evaporation of coating diluents, effectively ensuring the quality of the screened coating. Combined with automatic valves, various forms of automatic backwash cleaning can be achieved, improving production efficiency and further ensuring the quality of coatings.
