Application of Double Disc Refiner Plate

1. The double disc refiner is a continuous coarse and fine grinding equipment in the pulp making system of the paper industry. It can also be used as an efficient dewatering equipment for pulp residue regrinding and waste paper regrinding, with advantages such as high production efficiency and low power consumption.

Structure of Double Disc Refiner

1. The double disc refiner is composed of two fixed refiner discs fixed on the casing and moving seat.
Form two refining zones by pressing the two rotating refining discs installed on the rotating disc.

2. The pulp enters the center of the refining zone through two inlet pipes on the casing and the moving seat. Under the action of centrifugal force and inlet pressure, it passes through the refining zone and is crushed by the toothed disc in the refining zone. The impact completes the pulping process and is sent out from the pulp outlet.

3. The disc plate and spindle are connected by spline floating connection, which allows for flexible axial movement.

4. The adjustment of the refiner disc plate gap is manual, driven by the worm gear transmission to rotate the screw nut, causing the screw to push the moving seat to move, and the turntable to make the corresponding axial movement, so that the gap between the two grinding zones is consistent, and the grinding disc gap and pressure meet the process requirements. The magnitude of the pressing current is an indicator of the grinding disc pressure.

5. The use of elastic ring column pin coupling ensures smooth operation.

6. The refiner plate material is wear-resistant alloy cast iron, which has undergone complete grinding processing.

Maintenance of Double Disc Refiner

1. The refiner should be kept clean, and all fasteners should be firm and reliable.

2. The transmission components should be flexible and operate normally.

3. Regularly inspect and lubricate each lubrication point as required.

4. If the refiner has been shut down for too long, the refining area should be cleaned thoroughly, and rust proof oil should be applied to parts that are prone to corrosion.

How to Replace The Double Disc Refiner Plate

Need to replace refiner plate: When there is only 1mm left in the grinding teeth, replace the refiner disc plate in the following order:

(1) Stop the machine and cut off the power supply;

(2) Move the moveable seat back into the hood;

(3) Loosen the locking knob and open the hood;

(4) Remove the turntable;

(5) Remove the disc refiner plate;

(6) When installing a new refiner plate, the surface in contact with the disc should be cleaned and coated with butter. Refer to the installation diagram of the refiner plate and fix it in place. Use a left patterned refiner plate in the grinding area of the moving seat and a right patterned refiner plate on the other side.

(7) Double check if the refiner plate is installed correctly, close the hood and tighten the locking turn.
