Among the components of the pressure screen basket, the rods, the middle drum ring, and the upper and lower flanges are all crucial parts. The screen bars, in particular, have a crucial impact on overall performance. The screen gap width of the slotted screen basket, which is the minimum distance between two adjacent rods, is a key factor affecting the screening effect of pulp. Therefore, during the processing of the rods, it is necessary to strictly control their cross-sectional shape and quality to ensure the uniformity of the screen gap.
The Rods of Pressure Screen Basket
The length of the rod body can reach 3 to 4 meters; it must be cut according to the height and dimensions of the screen basket and thoroughly cleaned before being used for assembly. To ensure the quality and consistency of the pressure screen basket, we need to conduct strict inspection and control over them.

Common materials for rods include 316L, 321, and 304, with 316L being of the highest quality. We conduct random inspections on the cross-sectional dimensions of the rods and meticulously record and analyze the data. Typically, we use the average value of the measured data as the dimensional benchmark for that batch of rods, and label the measured rods to ensure they match the slot width and spacing on the corresponding screen drum ring. If the cross-sectional dimensions exceed the allowable range, the rod should be rejected. Lastly, we inspect the surface quality of the incoming rods to ensure they are free from defects such as burrs and cold-lap, thereby guaranteeing their performance. Rods exhibiting such defects should be discarded.
Pressure Screen Basket Rods Cutting and Processing
For specific models of screen basket and requirements for rods section, we need to carefully inspect whether the required rods model and length meet the standards. Through visual inspection, we detect the straightness of the rods, and absolutely do not allow any dead bends or twisted sections to ensure that the rods are as straight as possible, so as not to affect their assembly effect. In addition, the rods need to be degreased and cleaned to ensure their surface is smooth. After cleaning and drying, the rods of the same screen basket should be placed in order and clearly marked for the assembly of the screen basket.
Pressure Screen Basket Flange and Middle Drum Ring Processing
The upper and lower flange blanks of the pressure screen basket are typically processed through forging, while the middle drum ring is generally formed through bending and welding. To reduce internal stress during forging and welding, these blanks require annealing treatment. For flanges processed externally, we not only need to inspect their material quality, but also strictly control their dimensions according to the drawing specifications to ensure appropriate allowances for subsequent machining. At the same time, the welding quality of the flange and the middle drum ring must meet relevant technical standards. The surface of the drum ring should be kept flat, and its overall warp degree should not exceed the allowable range to avoid affecting the quality of subsequent assembly. The annealed flange and drum ring should be stored as specified, and their identifications must be clear and accurate.

Pressure Screen Basket Drum Rings Grooving Process
To ensure the smooth embedding of the rods on the middle drum ring (which can sometimes be designed to be embedded together with the upper and lower flanges), we need to perform grooving on the middle drum ring (or the combination of the middle drum ring and the upper and lower flanges). Before grooving, the cutting pattern should be inspected according to the drawing requirements and the actual situation of the rods. Only after passing the inspection can grooving be carried out. During the grooving process, it is necessary to use matching rods for trial inspection, so as to timely detect and correct cutting errors or prevent cutting mistakes. The size and spacing of the grooves must meet the seam width requirements of the processed pressure screen basket, while also ensuring the consistency of grooves, uniformity of graduation, and the smoothness of the cutting surface. After cutting is completed, the workpiece should be cleaned and neatly stored, clearly marked for assembly use.
