What is the Core Function of a Screen Plate?

  • Particle size classification: Separate materials by particle size (such as ore sorting)
  • Solid liquid separation: intercepting solids and passing liquids through (such as sewage filtration)
  • Impurity removal: Screen out rejects(such as pulp rejects)
  • Material dehydration: Remove surface moisture (such as sand washing dehydration)

Material of Screen Plate

  • High manganese steel: Strong impact resistance, can be welded to repair non corrosion-resistant mine vibrating screens (iron ore).
  • Stainless steel 304/316: corrosion-resistant, food grade safe, high cost, low hardness, suitable for food processing and chemical screening.
  • Polyurethane: Excellent wear resistance (≈ 8 times that of steel), poor noise reduction and high temperature resistance (<80 ℃), fine particle grading (quartz sand)
  • Rubber: has good elasticity, anti sticking material is prone to aging, and its lifespan is short. Wet material screening (coal)

  • Flat type: Low overall stamping/laser cutting cost, easy replacement.
  • Wave shaped: The curved convex design increases the screening area and prevents material blockage.
  • Modularization: Small unit assembly (with quick release buckle), partial damage can be replaced separately.
  • Reinforced rib type: Back welded support skeleton to resist heavy load impact (large ore)

How to Install the Screen Plate?

  • Bolt fixation: Traditional method, high reliability but slow replacement.
  • Tensioning type: The screen plate is tightened on the frame (requires special tools), suitable for fine screening.
  • Quick installation of snap fasteners: No tools required, replacement can be completed within 5 minutes (selected for modern production lines).

How to Choose Suitable Screen Plate?

Aperture=target separation particle size x1.2 (compensating for material bounce caused by vibration)

Balance of porosity:

High porosity (≥ 40%) → increases yield but reduces strength

Low porosity (≤ 25%) → Extend lifespan but limit processing capacity

Thickness selection formula:

Screen plate thickness (mm) ≥ maximum feed particle size (mm) x 0.1+wear resistance coefficient

(Wear resistance coefficient: manganese steel=2, polyurethane=5, rubber=3)

How to Increase The Screen Plate Production Efficient?

Anti blocking technology for screen plate

Adhesive material: Use trapezoidal holes (narrow at the top and wide at the bottom) or bouncing ball cleaning system.

Fiber materials: Ultrasonic assisted screening (such as recycling pulp processing).

Life extension for screen plate

Add wear-resistant lining plates (capable of withstanding 80% impact) at the feeding end of the sieve plate.

Preheat the polyurethane sieve plate to above 10 ℃ before winter use to prevent brittle cracking.
